July 8, 2008 - Destruct-o-thon
Thanks for a great time guys! If you came over here from Youtube, head to the music section to hear some more songs. If you like what you hear, email me and I will tell you where to download my CD.
Now that that is out of the way... I just got back from a sweet vacation in North Carolina. I came home and hit up destruct-o-thon, and now I am back to work and having a great time. I have worked extensively on some music from my old cd, no real structure changes, just some releveling and stuff like that. It is really making a difference, I will be releasing them starting with song 1 as they get finished. Thanks for visiting!

Ahh! Life is going well. I am working really hard on some new music, it is piecing together quite nicely and cannot wait to let you hear it. I am heading to MD tonight to see my college roomate's friend off. Pete just joined the Army and is headed off soon. Those of you who don't know, Danny (my old roomate) was a major influence musically for me while I was in college. He would listen to my new concepts and encourage me to experience new styles of music. I have never been good about sampling the music pool out there. For some reason the composition process is way more fun then listenning to music. I submitted a song to Anjunabeats. I doubt I will hear back, but I think it is cool how they have it set up to receive music from new artists. That's a great way to get new talent. Maybe they will like the concept and give me some feedback on how to get better, that would totally make my day.

Bought FL Studio 8 w/ free updates for life yesterday (Thanks Mom for the excelent B-Day gift). It is a major improvement over 6, which I have been using for almost 2 years. I have already started to convert a song into it, and I am absolutely in love. I will be starting a new music section to house my latest work. I have a feeling that my quality of production is going to greatly improve as the tool I use has greatly improved. Still a hobby though :)

Looks like PoopDaddy was being a bunch of dicks and didn't tell me that they were changing my hosting plan to no longer include support for PHP. I could have switched my hosting plan over to Linux to get my PHP support back, but I like having it on windows so I can do ASP.Net application work in my free time. I switched the PHP code over to ASP Classic for the time being until I finish my content management system.
New demos to come soon. Keep an Eye open.

It's been a couple months since I have put up any updates. I have been working like crazy and things seem to be smoothing out into routine once again finally. Today I joined into a debate about a production program that offers an extremely powerful technology for editting recorded tracks. I am going to blog about it in the blog section.
I started a couple new tracks, and am 75% completed with a remastering of All Together Somewhere. I am trying to make it a bit more full in places and not have such a scattered feel. In the end I may shorten it to 7 minutes, but who knows. Keep an eye out in the next couple days for a new track MaybeSomeday!

NEW SONG: Song Today - It's simplistic style of music where I try and maximize on bass. I enjoy the tune a lot and hope you do too. If you like it drop me a message @ my email (check contacts page).

New Blog up in the blog section. Also I updated my about profile and am making a contact page. The menu should now contain a link to my Myspace and Sellaband accounts.

Oh how fun life can be :). I stayed up too late last night and now I a paying for it. I started production on my upcoming "Tracks of '07" album that I am planning to have done sometime around the end of '08. Sorry for the length of time it is taking, but I am completely remastering all tracks to sound more seamless on the album. I also am planning on doing the same work to my "Music; A Hobby" album. That one is a bit trickier since more work will go into fixing those tracks while keeping the same feel. I suspect that I will finish "Music; A Hobby" first.
So I know your wondering, what about new tracks for '08? Know that I am still experimenting, but I am trying to limit myself to minor concepts and colabs exclusively as I am trying to slate most of my music work towards fixing my old tracks up. once I finish my two albums I will be discontinuing use of the software I have been using for the last 6 years. I have decided to make a move to more professional quality programs such as Reason and Pro Tools (used together). As this major step will require a good deal of re-learning things, I will be reproducing some old tracks with the programs as my first projects... But that won't be for a year anyway.
When I get settled in after Kung Fu tonight, I will upload a new track for all to hear. I am nearing a writer's block point on the song and need some feedback, so if you get a chance to jot me an email hit me at firesickle AT gmail DOT com.

Just want to shout CHARMANDER from SellaBand.com for pointing out a broken link on the music section. That Song had a misspelled link, went ahead and fixed that.
Wow, another great day in Sean Campbell's life... or is it? Just wanted to drop a message onto the webpage, but I doubt anyone reads this anyway. I got my shit together this month and started promoting some of my tunes. I also will be selecting 8-10 of my 2007 tracks to be remixed and remastered for my "Tracks of 2007" Album. It's a lot of fun so keep your eyes open for an announcement on myspace.

New sections coming soon as well as some new songs. I have been working on a new style of music, one involving vocals... Since I don't have any professional singers to do voice for me, and I don't feel like gaining rights to already recorded material, I have been training my voice and doing my own vocals. With any luck you all will like how this turns out.

A Unified Mind is just about done. I blew the dust off it over the weekend, kicked the tires and lit the fires. Now this a song that I admire. My favorite parts were written by Chris Cherif. Soon I will have this page converted to a new layout and upload the music.
